St Catherine Monastery & Dahab City Excursion One Day Tour from Sharm El Sheikh

An excursion to where Moses went to hear from God, the trip to Moses mountain is extremely spiritual, watch the burning bush and enjoy a long tour inside the Monastery of St. Catherine, have lunch in Dahab city and finally a special city tour in Dahab city for one hour where you can shop or wander around before driving back to Sharm El Sheikh.

Excursion itinerary 

• Pick up from your hotel (around 7:30 am depends on the Hotel location in Sharm) to drive two and a half hours to get o the monastery of St. Catherine.
• Moses Mountain the first stop you will visit the burning bush and Moses Mountain also known as mountain Sinai which is almost 2280m above the sea level, the place holds a great significance and it represents the greatness of god’s word to the prophet Moses.
• The Monastery of St Catherine you will be escorted to the monastery and your guide for the day will take you for an amazing tour inside the monastery where you can take some photos of this magnificent culture that has been built hundreds of years ago. It lies on the Sinai Peninsula, at the mouth of a gorge at the foot of Mount Sinai in the city of Saint Catherine in Egypt. The monastery is Orthodox and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This monastery is one of the oldest working Christian monasteries in the world together with the Monastery of Saint Anthony, situated across the Red Sea in the desert south of Cairo, which also lays claim to that title. The monastery was built by order of Emperor Justinian I (reigned 527-565), enclosing the Chapel of the Burning Bush ordered to be built by Helena, the mother of Constantine I, at the site where Moses is supposed to have seen the burning bush; the living bush on the grounds is purportedly the original. It is also referred to as “St. Helen”s Chapel.” The site is sacred to Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
• Lunch & Free Time we sill take almost 1 hour and 20 minutes at one of the restaurants nearby to have lunch and regroup to head back to Sharm .
• Drive back to Sharm El Sheikh By the end of the day, you’ll be escorted back to Sharm El-Sheikh enjoying the nature of the Sinai desert all the way down to your hotel.
